Abstract: This research explores the impact of social networks on adult education participation. The study aimed to investigate how social connections and networks influence adult learners' engagement and involvement in educational programs. The objectives were to assess the role of social networks in enhancing participation rates, to evaluate the impact on learner motivation and support, and to identify the characteristics of effective social networks in education. A survey research design was utilized to gather data from adult learners and educators regarding the influence of social networks, as it allows for a comprehensive analysis of these relationships. A sample size of 300 participants, including learners and their social network connections, was selected to ensure diverse perspectives. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals who are actively involved in educational social networks. The case study was conducted in Rivers, Nigeria, where social networks play a significant role in educational engagement. Findings indicated that social networks positively impacted participation rates, learner motivation, and support, with strong networks enhancing overall engagement in adult education programs. The study recommended fostering the development of supportive social networks and leveraging them to boost participation and engagement in adult education.
